Find the Answers You’re Looking For

A hand turning the page of a white paper

It’s happened so many times now, I know the quote above is true.

Someone signs up for my coaching. The first step to getting started is filling out the “State of Your Business” form.

The form asks 12 questions about your business: how you got started; where you are now; where you want to be. Simple questions along these lines.

Then the person schedules their appointment to speak with me. Invariably, they say “I learned so much just from filling out your form!”

The right question can change your future.

I believe asking the right question can have life-changing effects. Every once in a while, it’s important to stop and ask:

Do I still want that? Do I still believe that? Am I happy? If not, what would it take to make me happy?

“The way to develop decisiveness is to start right where you are, with the very next question you face.” –Napoleon Hill

In business, it’s important to ask the right question at the right time, too.

Things like:

Is this a good idea? Do others see it the same way I do? Is my timing right? Am I presenting my offerings in a way that will get attention? Is my message getting through?

“In all affairs it’s a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted.” –Bertrand Russell

It takes guts to check in with yourself and those around you to make sure you’re on the right track.

This time of year is a natural time to do it, too. You’re making plans for next year, looking ahead at a nice, open calendar, and thinking about how you’ll fill it.

“A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.” –Bruce Lee

You can’t be afraid to ask a “dumb” question, either.

It takes more courage to ask a question you think you should already know the answer to, than it does to ask one that shows how smart you are.

“A prudent question is one-half of wisdom.” –Francis Bacon

That’s why I hosted a Brown Bag Webinar all about questions.

It was my first “Open Q&A” webinar, and you’re invited to watch the replay. It’s totally free, and I have nothing to sell.

I put my 25+ years of business, branding, marketing, and design experience at your service during our webinar.

Tune in  to hear what your fellow Big Brand System readers are wondering about. One of them might have a situation that mirrors yours, and you’ll get the answer to your question before you’ve even asked it.

  1. So I tried to register for the webinar. I got a notice that I should give permission for a subscription, which I did, although this is a stupid question because I obviously am subscriped to the posts, then I got a page asking for the question I would like answered at the webinar – no place to confirm my attendance, and no way to exit without leaving a question. Which I did, and the screen returned me to the ask a question page again.
    No exit.
I still haven’t received confirmation of the webinar registration.
Your webinars are great but this is a really messy way of doing things, why on earth can’t you just put the whole thing in one, clear, easy-to understand message?

    • Hi Linda,

I received your email message and responded to that, so hopefully things are clearer now.

When you sign up for a webinar, you’re subscribing to an email list that’s set up to send you webinar information only. This way I can email only people who actually want to know about the webinar.

You should have received the webinar login information already. If you haven’t, please let me know. You’ll also receive two reminder emails: one 8 hours before the webinar, and the other 10 minutes before, reminding you to log on.

  2. Pamela – I just had to pop over and empathise with you over your ‘Question Asking Record’. I too have been told many times that I ask a lot of questions. Much of what I’ve learnt has been through asking them 🙂
